I’ve been studying World religions since the 1990’s. A lot of my content revolves around them. I’m going to be Frank here, part of my overall mission is to get people to follow Jesus Christ, specifically those who are having a hard time choosing a religion. No, Christianity is not the most mystical religion out there, especially when you compare it to Buddhism, Hinduism and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (which I do not believe to be a cult). I also like teachers such as Eckhart Tolle, Adyshanti (born Stephen Grey), Alan Watts and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, who was an Indian Sage popular around a century ago. I don’t care for anything by Jiddu Krishnamurti, who I believed used spirituality as a tool to feed his ego, like so many other “teachers” out there. Some of these teachers, like this guy, simply wanted to be known as the man with all the answers.
Here are three ideas I want you to take away from this article/post:
1. “There are many spiritual teachers but only one Son of God” – Calvin Terlizzi
2. “The Buddha never promised to save us from our Karmic debt [but Jesus did]” – My friend and fellow Spiritual author, Jan from Southern Illinois.
3. “Jesus Christ is either a liar, a lunatic or He is who He says He is” – C.S. Lewis’ famous’ “Trilemma”. The idea of course being that this is logical proof that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
Those 3 quotes are some of the most significant reasons as to why I am a Christian. There are other reasons as well, but quotes will only go so far. Maybe I will elaborate more on those ideas for this page on this website later on. I will however mention that the first idea and second idea/quote or sort of related a bit or tie in to each other.

I’ve spent many years with the Hare Krishnas (Officially ISKCON). They taught me a lot. I have visited ISKCON temples in Montreal QC, Tucson Arizona, Los Angeles and of my course my neck of the woods, Saint Louis Missouri. They acted as counselors and friends to me. I obsess every day over that six pack of beer I drink when I was 20-years-old. I had a freak reaction to it and ended up in the hospital for days. It was during my awakening. I told my ISKCON friend and Prabhu (a Hindu devotee) about it and how I think drinking it damned my Soul. He said Krishna’s more powerful than a six pack of beer and that eating meat is a bigger sin than a six pack of beer! On a side note, I brought up to him about merging with God while still in a human body, and he told me that merging with God isn’t the end of the search for awakening. This response surprised me and got me thinking a bit!
There will be more. Stay tuned, and God Bless.
